Benbow Historic Inn

Description

The Benbow Historic Inn is just south of Garberville. The luxurious, historic Redwood Coast Inn near the Avenue of the Giants offers gracious service, charming guestrooms, golf, swimming and a celebrated dining room, awarded Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for the past 16 years.

Guests enjoy the full-service lounge and the Inn's easy access to hiking, birding, kayaking, and strolling through the forests of the Redwood State Parks.

The "Hotel Benbow" opened to the public in July of 1926 and soon became a popular destination resort for motoring tourists traveling up the newly completed Redwood Highway. Set above the banks of the Eel River, the beautiful location and distinctive Tudor design has earned the resort the reputation as a National Treasure. The Benbow Historic Inn also is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Benbow Historic Inn, a Garberville, California inn, is set amidst striking gardens in a relaxing setting along the Eel River. An old stone bridge arches over the water providing a serene backdrop for guests lounging on lawn chairs with a book or a glass of wine. The rose garden features over 80 different varieties of this romantic flower, and their herb garden grows organic vegetables and herbs that are used in the restaurant.
