What would you do if the official record of your town's past turned out to be a lie? Tracy Letts' The Minutes is a dark comedy set entirely during a small-town city council meeting, where newcomer Mr. Peel presses for answers about missing meeting minutes and a council member's unexplained absence. What starts as a sharp satire of petty bureaucracy builds to a sinister, shocking revelation about the town's founding, and about what people will do to protect a comforting version of history.

In a moment when fights over what gets taught, told, and remembered are playing out in school boards and city halls nationwide, this timely, farcical drama stops feeling like fiction and starts feeling like a mirror. Don't miss it!

A Few Notes:
The performance runs about two hours and 15 minutes, including one intermission.
The Minutes contains sensitive themes including racial stereotypes, racial slurs, violence, and reference to sexual harassment. There are also sensory effects including flashing/strobe lights, sudden black-outs and theatrical fog. It is not recommended for anyone under high school age.
On Friday night, 9/25 only, there will be a "talk back" session with the audience after the performance. Anyone who wishes to stay is welcome.
